Our Teachers/Facilitators

Most classes and workshops are led by Dance Ignition founder Lizz Fort.

Lizz is skilled in developing, delivering and evaluating Key Stages 1 to 4 dance and GCSE dance schemes of work, and has worked in the state and private sectors.

She holds a Royal Academy of Dance Certificate of Higher Education: Dance Teaching (Distinction) (2007). Her particular area of specialty is facilitating performance projects with a creative process, choreography, and rehearsal time. Experience includes; Year 10 GCSE group dance piece for the Hampshire Schools Dance Festival; The Arnewood School dance showcase; twice yearly workshops and performances with Hordle Walhampton Pre-prep; and musical theatre dance with Leeds University Union Stage Musical Society and Dance Society.

She completed a BSc Honours in Sport Science and Physiology (University of Leeds, 2000), which has given her an excellent grounding in health and safety issues associated with physical activity, and the physiological/psychological benefits that dance engenders.

Lizz is also a qualified gymnastics coach, and has recently completed her level 1 coaching certificate in Street Cheer, a new an exciting branch of cheerleading being lead by UK Cheerleading Association and British Gymnastics.

Lizz works with other dance organizations to deliver education, and has recently been accepted onto a training programme with Magpie Dance, an inclusive dance company for people with and without learning disabilities based in Bromley.
